The feature «Themes» can be used to automatically filter and categorize your collected content into streams with different topics and create thematic Social Walls.

How the feature Themes works

By using Themes, you can filter all your collected content and sort it into thematic streams based on the used hashtags in a posts. An example: as a Tourist Destination you collect content with the hashtag #visitmycity. You could now create a Theme called «Swiss cities» and add the Tags #Zurich #Bern to this Theme. All collected contents that contain any of those Hashtags (#Zurich or #Bern) will now show in this stream. You can now embed this filtered Stream as a Social Wall on your Website or show it on a Screen.

How to create a new Theme

  1. The Themes panel can be found on the left-hand side of the page. To start, click on the ADD NEW THEME Button.

  2. A new Dialog Box will open. Name your Theme and enter hashtags you want to include in this Theme. Press Create to finish and create the Theme.
In our example, we named the new Theme Swiss Cities and added the two tags #Zurich and #Bern. This stream will now only show those posts of all your contents that use either #Zurich or #Bern.

  3. Click on your newly created Theme in the Themes panel on the left side to access the contents.

4. If you want to change the settings on an existing Theme, just click the Settings icon beside the Theme. The dialog box will then open and you can change your settings.

How to use the Advance Settings

This feature gives you even more possibilities to filter your content.

  1. In the Dialog Box of your Theme, press on the ADVANCED Button. Then the additional options will show.

  2. Choose if a content should match any of the tags or all of them. (Any: The post may include #Zurich OR #Bern. All: The post must include #Zurich AND #Bern.)

  3. You can also exclude tags from your Theme. Enter the Tags you want to exclude in the provided field. In our example we want to exclude all the posts that contain the hashtags #Restaurant, #Hotel and #Bar).

When you finished editing your Theme, press on Update to save the new settings.

Manually adding a tag to a post or deleting an existing tag

The feature «manage indexed tags» gives you even more possibilities to categorize your content. «Manage indexed tags» allows you to manually add or delete Hashtags from a post. An example: as a Tourist Destination you may have a Theme «Zurich».  In you collected contents is a beautiful picture of Zurich, but it's missing the right hashtags. So it's not showing in your Theme. You can now manually add #zurich and the post will then show in the Theme.

  1. Choose the post you would like to add your Hashtags and click on the more option icon (…) the click on Manage indexed tags.

   2. The dialog box that now opens shows all the hashtags that were included in this post. You can now delete any tag by pressing on the X sign. To add a new hashtag you simply have to type it into the field. Then press SAVE.

Adding and deleting tags on contentfry will not change the original post text displayed on your Social Wall!

What else you should know about tags

Is all text of a post indexed as tags or only the hashtags?

Contentfry indexes only the hashtags of a post as tags, not any other words of the text of a post.

Which Tags work - and which don't.
Follow the common Hashtag Guidelines when adding tags to a Theme. That means you cannot add spaces or punctuation, or the tag will not work properly.
