The Direct Upload feature allows users to contribute content directly to your Social Wall by scanning a QR code or clicking on a link—without needing to post on social media. This makes it easy for users to share images, videos, or messages, enhancing community engagement and interaction. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to activate Direct Posts for your Social Wall.

Creating A User Posts Connection

  1. Navigate to Direct Posts in the Connections panel of your Room's Dashboard. Then, click on the User Posts icon to start setting up the User Post connection.

  2. A popup window will open, allowing you to configure your User Post Connection. Start by giving your connection a name. Then, choose whether to display User Posts immediately (Moderation Off) or approve them before displaying (Moderation On). To finish, click Create.

You can learn more about adjusting the default security features for your User Post Connection at the end of this article.

3. Your new User Post Connection will now appear in the Connection panel. To adjust the settings, simply click on the Settings icon.

Activating the QR Code on your Social Wall

To allow visitors to upload their posts directly, you need to make the QR code visible on your Social Wall.

For step-by-step guidance on how to display the QR code on your Social Wall, please refer to the Activating Direct Posts for Users via QR Code or Link article.

Moderating User Posts

User posts will appear in your Room's dashboard alongside other content and will either await moderation or be displayed immediately on your Social Wall, depending on the moderation settings you chose when setting up the Connection.

💡Learn how to set up and adjust moderation settings for your Connections here.

Additionally, all content shared via the uploader will appear in the User Activities panel of your Room's Dashboard. In this section, you'll also find content flagged as unsafe. In contrast, the Moderation section will only show posts that have passed through our filters.

Exporting User Data (Including Emails) as a CSV File

You can download the content and information provided by your users, including email addresses, as a CSV file. If you plan to use user data and email addresses, ensure that users have given their consent. You can easily add a Terms of Use link to the uploader and request user consent before they provide their data.

To download the CSV file, simply click Export CSV in the User Activities section.

Additional Settings to Keep Your Social Wall Safe and Respectful

To enhance the safety and respectfulness of your Social Wall, you can adjust a few key settings:

1. Inform Users About Your Terms of Use

Ensure users are aware of your terms before uploading content by adding a link to your Terms of Use. Visitors will be required to agree to these terms when submitting their posts. To set this up, go to your Room Settings, navigate to User Activities, and add your terms link in the User Posts Connection section.

2. Increase Sensitivity Filters for User Posts

By default, all images and text uploaded to your Social Wall are automatically screened for inappropriate content. For stricter moderation, you can adjust the sensitivity of these filters or apply language and country-specific filters.

1. To modify these settings, navigate to the relevant User Connection and click the Settings icon.

2. In the popup window, you can select from the following options: Sensitive Content Filter, Language Filter, or Country Filter.

  • Sensitive Content Filter: Adjust the sensitivity of content filters, ranging from Off to Strict.

  • Language Filter: Specify the languages allowed in the uploaded text.

  • Country Filter: Restrict the countries from which content can be uploaded.

Don’t forget to save your changes before closing the window.

3. Activate the "Report a Post" feature

Additionally, you can enable your Social Wall visitors to flag content that may be inappropriate or infringe on intellectual property rights. Learn how to activate the "Report a Post" feature for your Social Wall in this article.
