With the Instagram Stories Connection, you can collect Stories from your own Instagram account and display them on your Social Wall. Unlike regular Instagram stories, they do not disappear from your Social Wall after 24 hours.

In this article, we show you how to add an Instagram Stories Connection. To connect Instagram Stories to contentfry, you'll need Advanced Instagram Connections, which require a Professional Instagram Account.

💡 Learn more about Advanced Instagram Connections.

How to add Instagram Stories to your Social Wall

1. To get started, click on the Instagram icon located in the Connections panel on the right-hand side of the contentfry Dashboard.

2. Once the popup window opens, click on 'Advanced'.

If this is your first time setting up an Instagram connection on contentfry, please connect with your Facebook Profile. If you need guidance, you can follow the steps outlined in the "Adding Advanced Instagram Connections" article.

3. In the new popup window, click on 'Stories' in the top tabs, then choose the Instagram Business Account you want to collect Stories from the drop-down menu.

4. Select your desired Moderation settings, then click on the 'create' button to set up your Instagram Stories Connection.

  • Moderation OFF: Your content won't appear on your Social Wall until you approve it.

  • Moderation ON: Your content will directly appear on your Social Wall.

5. Congratulations, you've successfully set up your Stories Connection! Please familiarize yourself with the important information about the Instagram Stories Connection in the following section.

Important information about Instagram Stories

  1. Video Sequencing: When uploading to Stories, Instagram splits long videos into sequences of 14 seconds. Contentfry receives and shows these sequences as individual pieces of content.

  2. Sticker Interactivity: Stickers added to your stories are not clickable or interactive on contentfry. For example:

    • Link, mention, or location stickers are not clickable.

    • Countdown stickers will display the time it showed when aggregated by contentfry.

    • Questions, quiz, and poll stickers will show the questions, not the results.

  3. Click Action Settings: If your contentfry display settings for "click action" are set to "open links" and one of your Story contents is older than 24 hours, the user will be linked to your current story due to the unavailability of the relevant content on Instagram. We recommend using a display where the click action is set to "show in detail modal".

  4. Profile Image: Instagram does not deliver a Profile Image for the Stories Connection. You can manually set your Profile Image for this Connection. Here's how you do it.
