This article demonstrates how to collect content from a Professional Instagram Profile that you do not own. If you know the account owner or if the Instagram Profile is not a Professional Account, you may want to explore our Instagram Creator Connections.

Not sure what you need?

If you're unsure about which option to choose for setting up an Instagram Profile Connection, check out the "4 Ways to Add an Instagram Profile" article for guidance.

How to Collect Content from a Professional Instagram Profile

1. To get started, click on the Instagram icon located in the Connections panel on the right-hand side of the contentfry Dashboard.

2. Once the popup window opens, click on 'Advanced'.

If this is your first time setting up an Instagram connection on contentfry, please connect with your Facebook Profile. If you need guidance, you can follow the steps outlined in the "Adding Advanced Instagram Connections" article.

3. In the new popup window, click on 'Public Content' in the top tabs. From the drop-down menu, select the Instagram Account with which you wish to establish the Connection.

4. Next, enter the Profile name of the Instagram account you want to connect into the designated field on the right-hand side.

4. Select your desired Moderation settings, then click on the 'create' button to set up your Instagram Profile Connection.

  • Moderation OFF: Your content won't appear on your Social Wall until you approve it.

  • Moderation ON: Your content will directly appear on your Social Wall.

5. Congratulations on successfully setting up your Instagram Public Content Connection! Please proceed to read the important information below.

Encountering issues during setup? Here are the two most common reasons why you may be unable to connect a public Instagram Account:

  1. It's not a Professional Account: Public Content Connections only work for Instagram Professional (Business or Creator) Accounts. If you're attempting to connect a User Account, try this setup instead.

  2. It's not a Public Account: Ensure that the Account you're trying to connect is public. To do this, log out of your personal Instagram Account and check if you can still view the contents of the Account you're attempting to connect.

Important Infos about the Public Content Connection

  • The 'Public Content' Connection enables you to collect content posted on a Professional Instagram Profile, including photos, videos, and reels.

  • Whenever possible, we recommend using the "Owned Account" or "Creator" Connection to set up an Instagram Profile Connection. This ensures the best user experience as the content is directly accessed via the account's login. Learn more about the "4 Ways to Add an Instagram Profile".
